Dancing with Gravity

Weekly Photo Challenge:

Show us the effects of gravity in your photo this week.

Oh, the things we create with a little waltz with Gravity…

Today is the 1st day of the 10th month of Nepali Bikram Sambat Calendar. Nepalese all over the world celebrate Maghe Sankranti, having plateful of Yam, Sweet Potatos, Sel Rotis, Ghee, Morsels with family; bringing warmth to our senses and beckoning summer season that is snail walking honestly!

Since we are discussing Gravity this week, I thought I’d show you how shopkeepers do a laborious, focused dance with gravity for hours and hours as they melt jaggery , fine them into beautiful strands and prepare delicious treats for the occasion.

Here, shopkeepers are preparing molasses (chaku in local language) for the  Maghe Sakranti festival around Kathmandu . All these photos belong to their respective owners.

and the dance ends with a delicious package of chaku that makes every Nepalese go GAGA. If you ever happen to come to Nepal, do take a bite on these treasures.  This post is a response to Weekly Photo Challenge and I am Mulberry Maiya ^_^

Have a nice day!
